No Entry

'Against the backdrop of the Windrush scandal, a Jamaican mother, Valerie Powell, struggles to keep her relationship with her son Eli intact. She suffers in silence as she battles with the government's hostile environment tactics, as she keeps the threat of deportation a secret, her psychological state begins to deteriorate as she grapples with the fear of losing her son and the country, she calls home.'

'No Entry' was made in collaboration with Goldsmiths University and has gone onto feature in 20 of the biggest film festivals for black stories and artists across the world. Highlights include the Academy Award Qualifying 'American Black Film Festival' and Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying 'BlackStar Film Festival'. It has received critical acclaim for it's writing, cinematography and production and will feature in 2023 on American Airlines Flights across the world to their 17 million monthly passengers.

Real-life events inspired this story and the tyranny that plagued the Caribbean diaspora in the UK. It is no coincidence that in 2020 we see a resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement, that is now spreading internationally. Our aim with No Entry is to highlight an unfortunate reality of the Caribbean diaspora's contemporary livelihood and history in the UK, whilst hoping to emanate greater empathy, communication and understanding.
